Edward Lee Thornton (80) of Butler, KY passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at River Valley Nursing Home in Butler. He was born in Covington on March 12, 1941 son to the late Ralph and Carrie Cotton Thornton. In addition to his parents Eddie is preceded in death by his wife Linda Sue Morris Thornton and his sister Polly Thornton.

Eddie was a member of Grants Lick Baptist Church, Pendleton County Sportsman Club, Falmouth Rotary Club and the National Rifle Association. He worked as a machinist for General Electric. He enjoyed his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, basketball and sharing good food with his friends.

Survivors include his sons Donnie (Paula) Thornton, Greg (Kim) Thornton and Brian (Shawn) Nordheim. Grandchildren Natasha (Mike) Rhoton, Tabatha (Eric) Biddle, Katie (Gary) Ashley, Abby Thornton, Nick Thornton, Emily Thornton, Jacob Nordheim, Luke Nordheim and Max Nordheim. Great Grandchildren Ashleigh (Jason) Wright, Rylan Rhoton, Kayda Rhoton, Caleb Biddle, Micah Biddle, Elias Biddle, Corah Ashley, Ellis Ashley and Arden Ashley.

Visitation will be held 11-1pm Thursday December 9, 2021 at Peoples Funeral Home in Butler. Funeral service will be held at 1pm, also at the funeral home. Eddie’s final resting place will be at Peach Grove Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Linda’s Legacy Scholarship Fund sponsored by Falmouth Rotary.
