Obituary for Gene W. Mullins Jr.

Gene W. Mullins, Jr., 67, of Memphis, Tennessee, formerly of Falmouth, Kentucky, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at his home. Born on November 4, 1954, in Covington, Kentucky to Gene W., Sr. and Doris Jean (Morgan) Mullins, Gene was a hard worker and was still actively employed as a Plant Manager for Drexel Chemical Company in Tunica, Mississippi. He was a graduate of Pendleton County High School, a member of Bellevue Baptist Church, Cordova, Tennessee, and a longtime member of Falmouth F&AM Orion Masonic Lodge. Gene loved to cook and spend time with his family. He never met a stranger, always had a joke or story to tell, and was generous to a fault—he was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back even if it was the last one he had. Gene was preceded in death by daughter, Jeana Sue Mullins; father, Gene W. Mullins, Sr.; and sister, Renee R. Brown. Surviving is his wife of 47 years, Connie Sue (Moorhead) Mullins (they had celebrated that milestone on Tuesday, July 5); sons, Gene W. “Trey” (Ashley) Mullins, III and Brent (Luong Lai) Mullins; a special daughter, Bridgette Mullins; two grandchildren, Mason Mullins and Morgan Mullins; his mother, Doris Jean Mullins; sister, Regina (Lonnie) Gregg; brothers, Daryl (Sheila) Mullins and William M. “Bill” (Nancy) Mullins; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and a huge circle of friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with Masonic Rites at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening at Peoples Funeral Home, 8340 US 27, Butler, KY 41006. Funeral services to be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at Peoples Funeral Home. Interment will be in Gardnersville Cemetery, Demossville, KY. MIDDENDORF-BULLOCK FUNERAL HOME, ERLANGER, KY is serving the family. Memorial contributions are suggested to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
