Obituary for Kenneth Lee Kells

Kenneth Lee Kells (84) of Butler, KY passed away Saturday, October 23, 2021. He was born in Pendleton County, KY on July 16, 1937, son of the late Frank and Geneva Adams Kells. Kenneth was a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, retired truck driver after 60 years with multiple safe driving awards, he enjoyed horses, cars, Nascar (especially Dale Earnhardt), University of Kentucky Basketball, his dogs but mostly spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Kenneth is preceded in death by his son Kenneth Gene Kells, great grandson Aiden Kells, son in law Tom Ginn and brother in law Dallas Ward. Survivors include his wife of 47 years Marilyn Veirs Kells, son Michael (Tina) Kells, daughter Lisa (Alan) Johnting, step daughter Tina Ginn, step son Barry Wilson, daughter in law Brenda Kells, sister Audrey Ward, 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4-8pm, Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Peoples Funeral Home- Butler and for one hour preceding the service Thursday. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Thursday, October 28, 2021 also at the funeral home. Kenneth’s final resting place will be in the Peach Grove Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Michael Kells, Barry Wilson, John Michael Kells, Jennifer Thornsbury, Jay Kells, Derrick Kells, Adam Ginn, Ashley Setser, Brittany Kells, Kim Kells, Honorary Pallbearers Billy Veirs, Harry Clay Wilson, Gayle West, Billy Ray West, Brian Williams, Kevin Courtney and Gregg Courtney, Memorials, if desired, are suggested to the Hospice of Hope, 909 Kenton Station Dr., Maysville, KY 41056 or Mt.
