Obituary for Larry Louis Shumate
Larry Louis Shumate (73) of Alexandria, KY passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at the St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood, KY. Larry was born in Maysville, KY on November 8, 1948 son to the late George Lewis and Nellie Mofford Shumate. In addition to his parents Larry is preceded in death by his sister Peggy Warth.
Larry was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and retired systems programmer for the Orange County government in Florida. Larry was heavily involved with the food pantry @ Plum Creek Christian Church and was especially devoted to his family, his nieces and nephews loved Uncle Larry. Survivors include his sister Nancy (Ken Wayman) Campbell, nephews Thomas (Diane) Warth, Michael Warth, John (Amy) Warth, nieces Lindsey (Shane) Kremer, Laryn (Gary) Helton, Kailyn Campbell, great nieces and nephews Zachary and Andrew Warth, Luke, Libby and Logan Warth, Paisley Kremer, Makayla Ross, Colton Campbell, Kiera and Elijah Helton.
Visitation will be held 10-12pm Monday, December 27, 2021 at the Peoples Funeral Home in Butler. Funeral service will follow at 12pm, also at the funeral home. Larry’s final resting place will be in the Plum Creek Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, are suggested to the Food Share @ Plum Creek, 961 Nagel Road, Butler, KY 41006.
