Obituary for Patricia "Pat" Chastain (Hall)

Patricia “Pat” Chastain, 80, of Burlington, KY, wife of the late Brother Ron Chastain, passed away peacefully Friday, April 28, 2023. Pat was born to Paul Edward Hall and Wilma Hall September 25, 1942 in Baltimore, MD. She was raised in Pendleton County, KY and settled in Burlington with her husband and children in 1980. She is preceded in death by her father Paul Edward, mother Wilma, sister Paulette Hall Frechou, and brother Paul Edward Hall II. She is survived by her loving mother Margie Hall, dear sister Penny Miller, children Matt Chastain, Mark (Anastasia) Chastain, Kelly (Aksana) Chastain, and Elizabeth (James) Malaugh, her grandchildren Megan, Morgan, Declan, Aislinn, Masha, Brendan, Kenny, Michael, Kian, Luka, and Victor, and her great-grandchildren Cooper and Keegan.

Pat was a licensed optician and worked over the years for several offices in Northern, KY including Pearl Vision, Sears Optical, and Wing Eyecare. She enjoyed helping people and thrived at connecting with patients. As a dedicated and proud preacher’s wife, Pat committed her life to supporting her husband and family. Her strength, resilience, and unrelenting love carried her family through the most difficult times, and her joy of family fostered traditions and countless moments full of rowdy laughter. She was a woman of inimitable loyalty. Driven to serve others, she was consistently engaged in church-based community projects and particularly enjoyed contributing to the Shoebox Ministry each Christmas. Her chocolate cake recipe is known to be among the best in the world (according to her niece), but everything Pat prepared was delicious and nourishing because it was made with love. She will be dearly missed, but her family is comforted that she is once again with her husband, Ron, with whom she shared 59 years of a blessed life.

Visitation will be held at People’s Funeral Home, 8340 US Hwy 27 N, Butler, KY 41006 Saturday May 6 from 9:00-11:00am. A service led by Bro. Monte McElfresh will begin at 11:00am, also at the funeral home. The family requests that memorials, if desired, be sent to Peach Grove Cemetery, c/o Jimmy Roseberry, 262 Garvey Road, Butler, KY 41006.
