Obituary for Ralph M Pettit
Ralph M. Pettit (97) of Butler, KY passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022 at his home cared for by his family. He was born in Campbell County, KY on September 23, 1924, son to the late Henry and Edna Harris Pettit. In addition to his parents Ralph is preceded in death by his wife Shirley Turner Pettit, son Michael Pettit, brothers Henry, Raymond, James, and Cliston Pettit, and sisters Wilma Schroeder and Irene Mullins.
Ralph was a United States Army Veteran of the WWII and Korean War. He was an avid farmer, worked for Allis Chalmers Company and retired from Kroger where he worked for 32 years. He was a member of the Butler Baptist Church and attended Grants Lick Baptist Church.
Loving father of Melanie (Michael) Crail and Marcia (Mike) Middleton and loving brother of Helen Hutchison. Loving grandfather of Cliff Crail, Joe (Gerri) Crail, Sarah (Mike Brown) Stubbs and Erica (Mike) Joering. Loving great grandfather of JoAnna, Katelyn, Nina, Riley, and Jodi.
Visitation will be held from 4-8pm Friday, April 1st, 2022 at Peoples Funeral Home in Butler. A second visitation be held at 10-11am Saturday April 2nd at Grants Lick Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow at 11am, also at the church. Ralph’s final resting place will be at Butler Cemetery with full military honors, under the direction of Peoples Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to Grants Lick Baptist Church or Butler Baptist Church.
