Obituary for Violet L. Sizemore (Tucker)

Violet Lorine Tucker Sizemore, age 91, of Fort Thomas, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023. Violet’s talents were many, and extended through her home-maker skills and were rooted in the depression era conservatism and her strong Christian faith. She was an accomplished seamstress, keeping her children in beautifully crafted handmade clothes and with her artistry evident in her unique quilts and other major sewing projects. Typical of a farmer’s wife in her time, she could single handedly put on the mid-day meal for the farm workers after the morning’s labor that would help sustain them through the afternoon’s chores. She was widely known for her Friendship Bread, and her brown bread cooked and distributed in tin cans she’d saved. Through all her work, you could hear her humming, singing, or whistling her favorite gospel tunes. Once when told to be quiet, she said, “I can’t be quiet. The Lord puts a song in my heart.” Preceded in death by her parents, George William, and Luella Mae Emminger Tucker and three brothers, Arnold, Junior, and Ray Tucker and two sisters Garnet Fredrick and Carol Tucker. Also preceded in death were her two sons, Timothy and Benjamin McGlothin and daughter Rebecca McGlothin. She is survived by her brother, Kenneth Tucker, and her sisters, Wanda Lack and Faye Lynch. She is also survived by her son, Sidney Baldwin, and daughter Garnett Seal. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and even several great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 10-11am, Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Peoples Funeral Home in Butler. Funeral service will immediately follow at 11am also at the funeral home. Violet’s final resting place will be in the Lenoxburg Cemetery.
The family would like to express their thanks to Bluegrass Hospice and The Village at Erlanger for her end of life care.
